All-you-can-stamp Christmas Card Buffet!

Hello Everybody!

The next class will take place on Saturday 19 October 2013 at 10.30am at Beauchief Baptist Church, Hutcliffe Wood Road, Sheffield.

This month I'm doing a different style of class - an all-you-can-stamp Christmas card buffet!

HOW IT WILL WORK

There will be a set fee to come along of £6. This is just to help me out with the hire of the hall etc. All the cards featured will be available as mini kits to make yourself and will cost £1 each (all cards will include envelopes too).

That way, you can make as many of each design you like and only pay for however many you make.

If there's one particular design you're not keen on - no problem! You don't have to make it!

If there's a design you really like - make 5, make 10 or 20! You only pay for however many cards you make.

The great thing about this class is, depending on how long you've got and how many cards you want to make, you can stay for an hour or stay all day!

Below I've put up close up photos of all of the cards shown above, there may be more designs on the day!

All will be very simple to make.

You can personalise them in any way you like.

Use different stamps to make them your own.

Make as many as you like.

The price of £1 per card includes the envelope.

If there's any design you don't like, you don't have to make it!

I'm thinking of making these card buffets a regular thing, so, as this is the first, we'll see how it goes!

You can sign up for this class by emailing me on Joannefriend9920@aol.com, or click on the "Add to Cart" button at the top of the page to pay by Paypal.

If you have any questions at all, please do email me and I'll help as much as I can.

Hope to see you there! Joanne x

Matchbook Album Class

Hello Everybody!

This is a quick post to announce that my next class is now booking. The class will take place on Saturday 29 September at Beauchief Baptist Church from 10.30am onwards.  We will be making a matchbook style album as shown above.  I have called my album "One Lucky Girl" after an idea from Shimelle Laine in which she documents all the things she is thankful for in her life. That's what I'm going to do with my album.

I have used Stampin' Up! Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Series Paper because it lends itself to any occasion.  The album could be used for a holiday, Christmas, wedding, or just a year album to document everything you've done in 2012 or are going to do in 2013.

The whole album measures approximately 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" and is based on a design by Kathy Orta. Inside there are four 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" pockets which can be used to display photographs or journalling.

Inside each of the four pockets is a 6" x 6" insert which, again, can be used for extra photos, mementoes or journalling.

The whole thing closes like a matchbook and creates a beautiful unusual album.

If you'd like to come along to the class, the price is £15. For this you will get your full kit with extras left over to make other projects of your own. If you'd like to book a place, please visit my website HERE for more details.

March Class Now Booking!

Hello Everybody!

This is March's class which is now open for booking. This month we will be making a paper bag album using the Tickets and Tags Simply Scrapping Kit.  It's a fantastic album, if I do say so myself (!) with loads of mats for photos and journalling and 15 pull out tags and cards for additional bits and pieces.  There's also plenty of room to keep mementoes of special days.

The basic cost of this kit is £20.  That includes half a pack of Simply Scrapping (you will still have plenty left to make a few cards or embellish other scrapping projects).  There is also an option to include the ink pad that we use and also another option to include the wonderful Number It stamp set that I have used for the album's title.

If you'd like to book on this class, it will be taking place on Saturday, 24 March at Beauchief Baptist Church, Hutcliffe Wood Road, Sheffield. All details can be found at my website HERE

And if you don't live close by or can't make it, FEAR NOT! I am going to offer instructions by email and/or a kit so you can still enjoy making this album yourself in the comfort of your own home.  Just keep an eye on my website and I'll let you know when the info is ready!

Any questions please get in touch.  Otherwise hope to see you there!

Fancy Folds Class - 25 February 2012

Hello Everybody!

Sorry I've been a bit slow at getting this month's class sorted and up on the site - had quite a busy month with one thing and another.

The class this month is called "Fancy Folds" and will entail us making four cards that are a little bit different than your bog standard one fold card. Let me take you through them:

First of all we have this beautiful free standing pop up card. Despite the appearance, it does fold down flat to fit in a normal C6 envelope! For this card we will be using the Everything Eleanor stamp set and one of my favourite colours at the moment - Pool Party.

Next is the Double Pocket Fold card. This is a super versatile card in that, as well as the normal card fold in the middle, it has two pockets on the front, meaning it can hold extra writing, photographs, gift cards, or anything you may wish to include.

The third card is called the Double Dutch Fold. This is made using the new You Are Loved set which is in our Spring Mini catalogue (one of my favourite sets at the minute!) A lovely unusual card.

Last but not least is the Side Step card made into a dresser with a dress on a hanger. This card can be altered for many occasions including a baby card or a wedding card.

For this class, everything will be cut and prepared for you, but full instructions will be given for you to recreate the cards at home.

If you would like to attend this class, the price is £10. Just get in touch with me at hello@steelcitystamper.co.uk to book your place.

New Class - Delft Tile Album

Hello Everybody!

It's been a hectic few weeks what with the school holidays and all. Anybody with kids will understand I'm sure!

So, without further ado, here is my latest class! The class will take place on Saturday 27th August at Beauchief Baptist Church, Hutcliffe Wood Road, Sheffield. It will run from 10.30am until we finish, but probably until around 2pm.

I have called this class Delft Tile Album. We will be doing no stamping in this class, but instead using the gorgeous Blueberry Crisp Designer Series Papers to make an album with tons of room for lots of photos and journalling.  Perfect for cataloguing all those Summer trips!

Inside there are six pages which are made by folding the paper in an origami fashion. This helps to create the different compartments.

Each page has a front as shown, plus, once turned over, you will see it has a flap which lifts up and also a slide out section for more display space.

For this class you will receive half a pack of Blueberry Crisp DSP, cardstock and embellishments - everything you need to complete this album.  Also, of course, there will be hot beverages and all you can eat cake! All of this for the price of £10.

If you'd like to book a place, please got to my website HERE. Please note I will need final numbers by Friday 19th August so hurry!

Hope to see you there!

Christmas in July!

Hi Everybody! This is just a quick post to let you know that I have prepared my latest class for July.  In keeping with tradition, I am doing a Christmas in July class this month using the Welcome Christmas set. During the class we will make four cards and a gift bag as shown above.  Here's a look at the four cards in detail:

This card is made using using punch art and embossing folders to create a clever fireplace scene.  The little bows are quite fiddly, but I love making them, so they will all be done for you!

This is a very simple card using the ever popular Big Shot Top Note die.  By making this card we will be using the masking technique.

A beautiful card made with the clever use of sponging or brayering and a Stamp-a-ma-jig.

This card uses Serene Snowflakes as well as the Welcome Christmas set to make a beautiful frosty card.

The gift bag matches the above card, so it can be given as a set if you like. The bag is decorated completely with the Serene Snowflakes.

If you'd like to come to the class it will be taking place on Saturday 23rd July at 10.30am at Beauchief Baptist Church.  Full details can be found at my website HERE.

New Class - 30 April 2011!

Hello Everybody!

Just a quick post telling you about my latest class which will be held at Beauchief Baptist Church on Saturday 30 April.

First of all we will be making an ingenious little mini album using origami techniques.  This album is big enough to hold 8 different inserts for your photographs and journalling.  But that's not all!

We will also be making a beautiful little box using the SU! exclusive envelope die and five small cards to put in it.  Here's a close up of all the cards we will be making:

The papers and goodies we will be using are all taken from the new mini catalogue.  You will receive half a pack of the Sweet Stitches Designer Series Papers, ribbons, buttons, pins, embellishments AND also the wonderful new Pattern Pieces stamp.

During this class we will learn new techniques of ruching ribbon and faux needlework, as well as different techniques to do with your stamp including making a background and paper piecing.

The whole class is available for £20.  If you'd like to come along then you can book through my website here.

Scrapbook in a Box and Criss Cross Card

May is National Scrapbooking Month, and to celebrate this, my next class on 8 May we will be making a Scrapbook in a Box and a Criss-Cross card using the beautiful Vintage Vogue set.

The box is very similar to an exploding box, but simpler and not as time consuming to make!  If you don't want to make it into a scrapbook, you can always just make it into a regular keepsake/gift box.  But this is what it looks like inside as a scrapbook:

It opens up into a 12" x 12" scrapbook page! Pretty cool, huh?!

Additionally, we will be making a Criss Cross card to match the box, so you can give the whole set as a gift if you can bear to part with it!

During the class we will learn two techniques - brayering and rock n' roll.  You will get everything in your class to complete these two projects.  The class costs £10, or £25 if you include the Vintage Vogue stamp set (regular price £19.95). For more details and to book a place on the class take a look here.

For those who can't come to the class, the materials used are Very Vanilla, Apricot Appeal and Elegant Eggplant cardstock, Bride DSP, Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal, Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant inks, clear rhinestone brads and twine.
